waiting room feature in Zoom App

The waiting room feature allows the host to control who attends the meeting.

After joining a meeting that has a waiting room enabled, participants see the following screen.

Prerequisites

Activate the waiting room

Set at account level

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an administrator with permission to edit account settingsAccount Settings ] and then click.
  2. Go to the Meeting Room option on the Meetings tab and make sure the settings are enabled.Note: If the  setting is invalid, click the status toggle to enable it. When the confirmation dialog is displayed , select [On] to confirm the change.

Set at a specific group level

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an administrator with permission to edit user groupsGroup Management ] and click.
  2. Click the group name and then click the Settings tab.
  3. [Meeting] tab, [ (details) at the meeting] under the [waiting room]Make sure that you move, the setting is enabled in the options.

If the setting is invalid,

click the status toggle to enable it.
When the confirmation dialog is displayed, select [On] to confirm the change.

If the option is grayed out it is

locked at the account level and needs to be changed at that level.

  1.  (Optional) If you want this setting to be mandatory for all users in this group, click the lock icon and click Lock to check the setting.

Enable your meeting room

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal and click My Meetings Settings if you are an account administrator, or Meeting Settings if you are an account member.
  2. On the Meetings tab, go to the Waiting Room option under At Meeting (Details) to make sure the settings are enabled.

If the setting is invalid,

click the status toggle to enable.
When the confirmation dialog is displayed , select [On] to confirm the change.

If the option is grayed out, it is

locked at the group or account level.
You need to contact your Zoom administrator.

Enable individual meeting waiting room

  1. Log in to the Zoom account, My Meetings ] to go to.
  2. To edit it, or click a meeting of the topic, to schedule a new meeting] and click.
  3. In the meeting options, check Enable waiting room .
  1. Click Save.

Enable the Personal Meeting ID Waiting Room

  1. Log in to the Zoom account, My Meetings ] to go to.
  2. Click the Personal Meeting Room tab.
  1. Click Edit this meeting .
  2. In the meeting options, check Enable waiting room .
  1. Click Save .

Enable or disable a waiting room during a meeting

  • Click Manage Participant  as the meeting host .
  • Click [Details] at the bottom of the Participant window, select Send Participant to the Waiting Room on Participation, and enable or disable the feature.

Approving participants in a meeting

  1. Click Manage Participant as the meeting host .
  2. Click Allow to approve the participants in the meeting.

Approve all participants in the waiting room

  • Click Manage Participant as the meeting host .
  • Click Allow everyone to enter .

Put participants in the waiting room during the meeting

  1. Click Manage Participant as the meeting host .

  1. For a meeting host, tap Details .

Switch [Send participants to the waiting room when joining] . Enabled in green, disabled in white.

How can you tell if someone is in Zoom waiting room?
