Call forwarding services are provided by various companies, starting with each carrier.

NTT Docomo offers a forwarding service called “Call Forwarding”.

In this article, we will introduce NTT Docomo’s call forwarding service in detail. Let’s check how to apply and how to set up after introducing the service.

Check the overview of NTT DoCoMo’s service “Call forwarding”

An application is required in advance to use “Call Forwarding” provided by NTT DoCoMo, but there is no monthly charge.

However, call charges will be incurred when the call is skipped from the forwarding source to the forwarding destination.

Calls can be forwarded to landline phones and mobile phones all over Japan, as well as phones located overseas.

Service settings can also be made from a phone other than the registered phone.

By using a 4-digit network PIN, you can operate remotely from your personal mobile phone, general telephone installed at home, public telephone, etc.

However, please note that you cannot use “Call Forwarding” if your billing plan is “ahamo”.

How to apply for NTT DoCoMo services

There are four ways to apply for NTT DoCoMo’s forwarding service.

If you want to apply without worrying about time, we recommend using a PC/smartphone or i-mode.

Method 1: PC/smartphone

You can apply to NTT Docomo by accessing “Docomo Online Procedures” from your computer or smartphone.

A d ACCOUNT is required when using a line other than DOCOMO when performing procedures on a computer.

A d ACCOUNT is an ID that can be issued even if you do not have a DoCoMo mobile phone.

When applying from your smartphone, you will need the 4-digit network PIN that you set at the time of signing the contract.

Method 2: i-mode

You can apply to NTT Docomo by accessing “Docomo Online Procedures” from your NTT Docomo mobile phone.

Since it is online, you can complete the procedure at any time 24 hours a day.

Method 3: Phone

If it is difficult to apply online, apply to NTT DoCoMo by phone.

If you are using an NTT DoCoMo mobile phone, you can apply for forwarding service by dialing “151” without prefixing the area code.

The reception hours are from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm.

Method 4: Store

You can also go to a docomo shop or d garden to complete the procedure.

Business hours vary depending on the store, so be sure to check in advance before visiting.

How to set up call forwarding

Four types of transfer methods

There are four types of forwarding methods for NTT DoCoMo’s “Call Forwarding”. Check out the table below to see the differences between them.

How to set up “Call Forwarding”

Setting method using the telephone

There are two main ways to set up using a phone: operating from the phone that is the source of the transfer, and operating from another phone (remote control).

Dial 1429 if you are setting up from the transferring phone. After that, follow the instructions in the guidance to register the forwarding number and set the time to call, and you’re done.

[How to operate with another phone]

If you want to operate using a phone other than the registered phone, you need to dial the access number. Please note that the access number differs depending on the area.
