In the chat tab of the desktop app, you can send and receive messages with users registered in Zoom.

From the Meetings tab of the desktop app, you can do the following:

  • Confirm My Personal Meeting ID (PMI) and change settings (* Pro account or above is required to change ID)
  • View, change, or delete  webinar page. Here you will see a list of scheduled meetings
  • Issuance of meeting invitation URL (copy)
  • Check/play/delete recorded meetings

You can check and edit users registered with Zoom on the Contacts tab of the desktop app.

This page is for starting chats and meetings from each user‘s information, and deleting unnecessary contacts.

On the Apps tab of the desktop app, you can add and manage external tools that can work with Zoom.

After installing the additional app, you will be redirected to a web page for authorizing access to the required account information, so follow the instructions.

External linkage from the desktop application is a new function that can be used with Zoom version 5.7.3 or later, so if it is not displayed, you will need to update Zoom.

Host a meeting from your desktop app

There are two ways to hold a meeting on Zoom’s desktop app: launch an immediate meeting or schedule a meeting for a later date.

If you want to start the meeting immediately

  1. Launch the Zoom desktop app and click “New Meeting”
  2. Click “Start meeting” (If you use My Personal Meeting ID, turn it on and click)
  3. Click “Participants” from the toolbar at the bottom of the screen
  4. Click “Invite”
  5. Notify the invitation URL by email or chat within Zoom

To schedule for a specific date and time

  1. Launch the Zoom desktop app and click Schedule.
  2. Set meeting dates, scheduled times, passwords, etc.
  3. Click “Save”
  4. Set members to invite and timing of notifications
  5. Click “Add”

You can edit the meeting schedule and participant information later.

Join a meeting from the desktop app

To join the meeting, simply click the invitation URL with the desktop application downloaded and installed.

You can also start the desktop application and enter the meeting ID from the “Join” button to enter the room.
